THREE BARS TO CHOOSE FROM

MAIN BAR

Patronage to Pat O’Brien’s is unwavering, and no where is that more obvious than the Main Bar. This bar exudes the atmosphere of a neighborhood bar. On the walls hang framed pictures of loyal customers enjoying years spent at their favorite French Quarter establishment. Renovated in the 1960s, the Main Bar caters to local and out-of-town patrons alike.

With over 500 beer steins hanging from the ceiling, champagne bottle wall lamps, and mirrored bar backs bordered with ornate ironwork, the Main Bar has the feel of an old-fashioned private gentlemen’s club – but everyone is welcome here!

The jukebox plays a wide variety of everyone’s favorite bar tunes for those who want to sit back and relax or have a rousing good time dancing with friends. During the day, a giant-screen television broadcasts sporting events, and there’s not a bad seat in the house!

PATIO

As you walk through the carriageway, you follow the slate flooring to Pat O’Brien’s most popular bar – the Patio Bar. The appeal of this famous Patio is evident with its open air to the New Orleans sky and glass and iron tables set among lush foliage. It exudes the feeling of a casual party held in a neighbor’s backyard.

The 4,000 square foot Patio imparts Southern Living at its best. At the center stands Pat O’Brien’s landmark Flaming Fountain. Designed to resemble a champagne glass, the copper fountain hosts a brilliant flame amid streams of water. The rush of the water serves as gentle background music to the sounds of laughter and chatter of customers, while the fire provides a warm glow to light the night sky.

The Patio hosts two bars serving customers – one serves Hurricanes and beer, while the other offers our full menu of Specialty Drinks. While sipping your Hurricane, you can stop by our Gift Shop to pick from our wide variety of Pat O’Brien’s souvenirs.

The Patio’s atmosphere exudes the Pat O’Brien’s motto of “Have Fun!” Whether you gather with friends to drink a Hurricane or two, or have a seat next to the Flaming Fountain to enjoy the night air, the Patio serves up the fun as only Pat O’Brien’s can!!

PIANO LOUNGE

“Dueling pianos” concept evolved from the late 1890’s RAGTIME era, where two pianists would “duel” for the crowds attention and tips. Although there were two pianists at the original location, the new location provided much more space to accommodate two baby grand pianos. They tweaked the ragtime format to encourage audience participation by way of song requests. The show quickly became a favorite of locals, especially a few newspaper writers. Word spread across the country and propelled the bar’s already familiar name. Through the years a variety of performers have graced the stage…singers, horn players and, of course, tray tapping, but always with the accompaniment of talented entertainers at the copper topped pianos.

The show is largely dictated by the audience. The lounge is filled with fun energy to the delight of anyone who walks in the room. Often, there is a line to get in , but it’s well worth it. It’s a must do in New Orleans!

Piano Lounge hours of operation: Thursday & Sunday 4pm to Midnight, Friday & Saturday 3pm to 1 am.
